We are looking for an Industrial Designer to join our Product Design team and spearhead the development of compelling creative products for kids and for home decor. You are an independent go-getter, with strong design intuition.

 

What’s the job?

As a Product Designer with an industrial design background, you are responsible for ideating and concepting new products that complement the current Laublust (https://www.laublust.de/) product assortment but explores new play patterns, materials (wood, plastic, MDF board, bamboo etc.) and price points to appeal to a large audience.

 

• Ideation, brainstorming, and research of product concepts. You can visually present your ideas (in any programs convenient for you).

• Prototyping and design iteration. You must be a maker at heart. You know how to transfer the approved project into dimensions / measurements and give it to implementation.

• Material sourcing and sampling. We work with our Purchasing team, as well as our manufacturers to ensure that our products meet the highest quality and safety standards. As a Product Designer, you write product specs, sample materials, work with the Purchasing team, and are responsible for spreadsheets to track product quality and cost, ensuring we hit company targets.

 

Required Qualifications*

 

• MA or BA Degree in industrial design.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial design or architecture studio.

• Experience of working with different materials, especially wood.

• Knowledge of production processes.

• Portfolio demonstrating the design of highly successful products from conceptualization to commercialization.

• Familiarity with manufacturing tools and 3D printers.
