We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Team Lead to handle our company's procurement activities. The Purchasing Team Lead's responsibilities include developing global purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.

 

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Development

  • Create and implement best practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance

  • Ensure that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets, which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market to include: tеrms and conditions, supplier selection/de-selection, evaluation and rationalisation of supply chain solutions including vendor managed inventory, supplier consignments and safety stock  

  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities

  • Initiate and develop creative and innovative procurement processes (eProcurement)

 

Inventory & Supplier Management 

  • Product range management: Coordinating with Category Management & CEO concerning new products.

  • Coordinating with Merchandise Planner and Category Management concerning inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.

  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

  • Ensure professional and consistent supplier management is applied across the supply base in line with the purchasing policy

 

People Management 

  • Set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance.

  • Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements

  • Work with the Purchasing team to translate strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPIs, 

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years Experience as a Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Team Lead or in a similar position with category management background.

  • Experience in the B2C e-commerce field is required.

  • English - advanced required (German or Polish will be an asset)

  • Demonstrable experience of leading a purchasing function with a proven track record in strategic purchasing leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, processes and systems

  • Supervisory and management experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchasing software.

  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level

  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently.
